Imagine a World Without Hate 2
May 2025
Printed matter
11 x 17 inch
Expanding on last year’s project, which was about social compaign called Imagine a World Without Hate, this collage series reimagines photographic records of violence, racism, and oppression into scenes of peace, unity, and love. The project confronts the historical weight of struggles of civil rights and racial injustice by transforming their visual documentation into alternative narratives of healing.

Drawing from archival images, the collages do not erase the past but rather rewrite its emotional tone. I tried different collage methods to embody the concept of “lossy compression” from "A Mathematical Theory of Communication" by Claude E. Shannon—where parts of the original image are permanently altered or removed to create something new.

Ultimately, the series asks viewers to imagine a world that prioritizes compassion over violence, coexistence over division, and love over hate.
